Our Adoption Timeline

  • July 2012: Lily's second surgery
  • Sept. 2011: Lily's first surgery.
  • May 2011: Hope's cleft palate surgery
  • April 2011: Hope's cleft lip surgery
  • Feb 10-26: TRIP TO CHINA!!!!
  • Jan. 18, 2011: We got our Consulate Appointment! Booked flights to leave for China on Feb. 10!
  • Jan. 12, 2011: WE FINALLY GOT OUR TAs!
  • December 1: FedEx man comes again bringing Hope's RA to sign!!!
  • November 29: RA FOR HOPE!!!!
  • November 24: PA for Hope!
  • October 29: Sent EA to China for Hope
  • October 29: Referral for Hope!!!!
  • Sept. 7: FedEx man comes! (Lily)
  • Sept. 2: Referral Acceptance Dang Ning Li (Lily)!!!
  • August 23: Lily's PA from China
  • August 16: Sent EA to China
  • August 13: Referral for Lily!
  • August 2010: renwed Home Study for second time. Renewed I-171H for second time.
  • July 2010: switched to the China Waiting Child program
  • June 2010: mission trip to special needs orphanage in China
  • May 2010: Wait time has been over 2 and a half years.
  • January 2009: Dossier renewal. Wait time has been 14 months.
  • November 2, 2007: LID!!! Our dossier is logged into China!
  • October 5: Received our I 171-H Form! The LAST thing needed for our dossier!
  • September 20: FINGERPRINTED!
  • August 10: Dossier certified by Secretary of State!
  • July 23: Sent dossier off to get certified and authenticated!
  • July 11: HOME STUDY COMPLETE!
  • July 10: sent off the I-600 A form asking permission of US government to adopt Hope!
  • June 20: last Home Study appointment
  • June 7: 3rd Home Study visit, Amy's birth certificate comes from La....it's a miracle!
  • June 6: PASSPORTS come in!
  • June 4: hearing tests...yes we can hear!
  • June 3: Amy goes back for a hepatitis test
  • May 20: got physicals, blood tests, applied for passports
  • May 17: second Home Study
  • May 15: first Home Study appointment; kid's TB tests
  • May 11: received Home Study and Dossier packets and began collecting documents
  • May 10: found out Amber is our Home Study Coordinator
  • May 7, 2007: found out Kim is our AWAA Family Coordinator
  • May 1, 2007: Mailed in official AWAA agreement with initial payment!
  • April 21, 2007: we are approved to adopt!
  • early April 2007: application sent to America World
